I’m not a blog zealot (with five posts over the last three or so months, that plainly evident). However, I still think it’s a respectable pursuit, especially for someone with so much time on his hands.

I have found that the act of bogging allows me to think things through a lot more thoroughly. It allows me to me challenge my preconceptions and makes me think harder before I form opinions. The dialogue with other bloggers and those who take time to comment helps me think in different ways, shows me when I have got it wrong and helps to tease out my own views.

Caveat: The act of blogging requires you to give a bit of yourself, and when you put yourself out there, not everyone will like what you have to say.

From the creator of the most popular website of all time (…ok, maybe not of ALL time), comes a guide to living the laid-off life – whether you’re actually unemployed or just a connoisseur of doing absolutely nothing. Unemployed since March of 2010, the author of this blog now spends his time watching TV, taking powernaps, spacing out, snacking, updating his blog and doing…stuff.

The Unemployed Publishers Handbook is chock full of ways to spend time when you can’t spend any mon-ay. We’ll start at dawn-ish and go through a whole day all the way to Etienne’s late-night insomnia attack at 2:30am. The Unemployed Publishers Handbook chronicles Etienne’s Mark Six (lottery) fantasies, thoughts about writing screenplays (samples included), cheap and “too easy” recipes, dealing with your “other half”, dream analysis, socialising with “the employed,” getting free stuff, and sneaky (and lazy) job search techniques.

There are games, puzzles, a glossary with lingo for the unemployed, and lots of…stuff. Whether you’re unemployed or just strive to live the lifestyle, Etienne will cover all the benefits of this exhilarating way of life.

The Unemployed Publishers Handbook will be coming soon to all good bookstores (…and some not so good ones).

About the Author
Etienne Maccario claims to have read everything that is out there, though he refuses to give a more concise description of what he means by out there.
